Training Vehicle
In the normal course of events, all lessons will be conducted in my 2008 1.6 TDCi 5 - door Ford
Fiesta Ghia, nick-named Harry! Great fun to drive, it has leather seats, air conditioning
and is fitted with He-man dual controls for safety. It is also fully insured and serviced according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
The 2008 1.6 TDCi 5-door, Ford Fiesta ghia is modern, light weight, easy to drive, easy to repair, roomy and a right pleasure to drive. It is well built, and the 1.6TDCi especially handles itself extremely well over all situations giving the user a smooth ride.
The engine gives great acceleration for a diesel model & would leave many similar sized petrol engines standing. Needless to say it keeps up with the flow of traffic without any problems. Gear change is very slick thanks to the cable operated gear change & the clutch is very smooth, as with all Fords.
Steering feels good, not too light or heavy at parking speeds which contributed to the Fiesta’s excellent handling on country roads. This is a car that can be driven quite enthusiastically without many problems.
Equipment levels are decent and come with air conditioning, leather seats and steering wheel, alloy wheels, fog lamps, i-pod connection and a decent radio CD. Front seats are very comfortable & come with height
adjuster; with an adjustable steering column it is very easy to get a
comfortable driving position. There are some occasions when training/coaching may take place in your own vehicle. If, for example, you have spent a lot of time having private practice(which I always think is an excellent idea!), you may find it difficult to adjust back to driving my car. Or, you may decide to take Pass Plus using your own car.
